What are Cosmetic Peels?
Cosmetic peels are an effective and safe method to remove superficial debris and at the same time stimulate the lower layers of the skin to start a repair process. Peels help to brighten the appearance of the skin and soften its texture. When done on a regular basis, they may help to lighten pigment spots and tighten pores. By promoting the natural turnover of old cells on the skin surface, peels helps to give a smoother, fresher skin appearance.

What are the potential side effects?
Side effects with acid peels are rare and mild. Most individuals are able to return to work or regular activities immediately after their treatment. At Skin Laser Clinic, your treatment will be performed by an experienced Medical Esthetician.
After a chemical peel, one may notice slight redness for up to 48 hours. This is a normal and expected indicating that the peel solution is doing its job. Sensitivity to sunlight may occasionally occur and may be prevented by using a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Dry, flaky skin or light crusting may last up to 4 or 5 days after peel. Do not pick!
What post care is required?
We recommend using REVALESKIN, Vitamin C Serum or Obagi skin care with Tretinoin (Vitamin A Acid or Retin-A) after and between peels so as to further enhance the results. This will be discussed with you at the time of your treatment.
Individuals using Tretinoin (Retin-A, Vitamin A Acid, Stieva-A), AHA’s, topical acne medications, (Clindoxyl, Differin) or any product that is drying or irritating must wait until there is no irritation (usually approximately 3 to 5 days after the treatment) before restarting.
