RADIESSE Volumizing Filler
RADIESSE available to our clients in the Peterborough, Lindsay, Cobourg, Oshawa and Belleville region.
The SKiN Laser Clinic is excited to add a new injectable filler to its arsenal of anti-aging treatments. Clients now have another option for addressing loss of volume and sagging skin, as well as reducing lines and wrinkles.
What exactly is RADIESSE?
RADIESSE is a volumizing dermal filler that is injected into the skin to soften creases, folds, and support areas of volume loss or contour specific facial features.
RADIESSE is derived from the mineral calcium. It is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. The microspheres are biocompatiable, meaning that they naturally degrade and then are metabolized by the body's normal processes.
How does RADIESSE work?
RADIESSE differs from other injectable fillers in that it provides immediate volume correction and stimulates natural collagen production over the long run. It does this by acting as a scaffold under the skin, providing a structure where collagen can grow.
The filler is known for producing soft, natural-looking results. Results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many people.
RADIESSE may be injected in various sites including:
- Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
- Marionette lines
- Corners of the mouth
Clients often elect to have injections in a combination of sites that includes the deep folds or creases on each side of the mouth, the cheeks and the jaw line. This approach creates a facelift-like effect called the "Y-Lift".
What to expect
The medical dermatology team at SKiN Laser Clinic will provide you with a personalized consultation, where we will access your facial symmetry, skin condition and personal health history, to determine if you are a good candidate for RADIESSE.
We will inject RADIESSE at the sites agreed upon during the consultation. We may apply a local numbing medication to maximize your comfort. You may experience the mild discomfort typically associated with needle injections.
Post injection you may experience a mild to moderate stinging or aching sensation. Some bruising at the site of injection is common. (To minimize bruising we ask that you inform us if you are taking blood thinners.) Minor to moderate swelling and tenderness may occur, though it should dissipate within 3 days.
